Heaven is For Real by Todd Burpo

51b20f6vdyl._sl160_This book really gets your emotions up and running, it's sad, happy, and you can feel worried too. Its about this little boy named Colton who gets very ill then he dies but he claims that he didn't. Instead he said he went to heaven for days but that's really minutes here. He even says he saw the Golden Gate and met Jesus! I think it's a very cute story, how about you?

Sisters

Lauren's thoughts:  This story takes place in a car on a road trip. The family is going to a family reunion cause they haven`t had one in 10 years. The road trip isn`t going as planned. This story reminds me of when my family has road trips but we have fun.

Anna's opinion:  I liked this book because it was funny and fun. On the way to her cousins house from California to Colorado was very interesting with a great ending.

Anna read this one, too:  I enjoyed this book! It goes from funny and weird to interesting and fun. I kind of feel bad for her with having to do with friends who turn out to be not so friendly and braces, surgery, headgear, and a retainer that has fake teeth attached to it.

Champ by Marcia Thornton Jones

41lb%2b1xj-wl._sl160_Brooke writes:  This story was one of the best! the most interesting part in the story Champ was when Riley went and took champ from Mrs.Lennar. yes, I would have liked to be in the story because it sounds friendly. I liked Riley's dad and champ because Riley's dad just kept on saying, "never give up riley never give up." over and over again. and I liked champ because he was NEVER a quitter. he never gave up on anything even thoe he only had 3 legs. I think the author chose this title because champ was never giving up and he was a champion so that's why he gave the title champ. I love the cover because it shows champs with his 3 legs and him catching a baseball and so that cover really made me think I would like this story.

Mitch & Amy by Beverly Cleary

Anna's review:  While my teacher was reading this book to me, it made me think a lot about Mitch and Amy. In this book some of the events are when Alan bullies Mitch and Amy, making a pinata with Amy, going to school(both Mitch and Amy), and Mitch going on a field trip to a bank which in the lobby you can pan for little bits of gold. This is a great book!

Kathleen says:  This story is about a brother and sister who are in 4th grade and have this bully Alan Hibbler who keeps getting meaner and meaner.  Mitch and Amy do not want Mrs. Huff, their mom, to find out. I liked this book because it is realistic fiction and could really happen. You may think, "Oh it is realistic fiction, it is going to be boring," but it is really interesting. It has funny and some sad parts in it.

Miss Stewart thinks:  Mitch & Amy doesn't seem to be one of Beverly Cleary's more popular books, but it should be. I like that the main characters are a boy and a girl, so it really appeals to both boy and girl readers. The characters seem quite real, and the circumstances they find themselves in could and do happen in real life. I know this isn't the last time I will read this book. I hope some of my Biblionasium friends read it themselves!
